Incorrect authorization in Mitel 6900 Series MiNet phones except 6970, 1.8.0.12 and earlier, allows physically proximate attackers root access. The /etc/check_mft.sh startup script treats concurrent star and pound keypresses as a manufacturing-test trigger, configures a fixed address, starts Telnet, and resets the root account to a static password. Physical keypad access and a network connection to the phone are required; exploitation exposes sensitive data and permits arbitrary code execution as root.
