Session script execution via oversized email sanitization bypass
Published Dec 26, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
Cross-site scripting in the OX App Suite backend 8.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to run script through crafted HTML email content. A complex hierarchy of HTML elements and event handlers in an oversized email confuses sanitization when Show Entire Message returns the content. The attacker must access the same App Suite instance and induce the victim to follow a link; exploitation enables session hijacking or unwanted web actions.
