CVE-2022-29833Network attack vector

Unauthenticated safety CPU access via insufficient credential protection

Published Nov 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 25, 2025

Insufficient credential protection in Mitsubishi Electric GX Works3 1.015R and later allows remote attackers to access safety CPU modules. Mitsubishi Electric and the researcher identify protected credentials as the affected locus but do not disclose the operation that exposes them. Exploitation requires possession of an associated safety PLC project file, and module access depends on reuse of its protection credentials.
