CVE-2022-29823Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Application-level code execution via recursive query cloning

Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated Mar 11, 2025

Prototype pollution in feathers-sequelize 6.0.0 through 6.3.3 allows remote attackers to execute code with application privileges. The cleanQuery recursive copier assigns an attacker-controlled proto key to a new object, changing its prototype so Sequelize no longer treats the query as a plain object. Exploitation requires an exposed Feathers query interface; public research demonstrates application-constraint bypass, while the CNA reports application-level code execution.
