AI service interruption via unvalidated model weights
Published May 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Model-weight validation in HiAIserver on HarmonyOS 2.0 and EMUI 12.0.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt AI services. HiAIserver accepts a model weight without strict validity checking, causing AI-service exceptions when the invalid weight is processed. Exploitation is network-reachable and unauthenticated, and the reported consequence is limited to service interruption without confidentiality or integrity impact.
