Privilege escalation in Avaya Aura Application Enablement Services 8.0.0.0 through 8.1.3.4 allows local users to execute code as root. The web application's account-management path assigns permissions weakly enough that an administrator can modify accounts and reach root execution. Releases 10.1.0.0 through 10.1.0.1 are also affected, and administrative access and user interaction are required; Avaya has not disclosed the affected endpoint, permission, or account operation.
