CVE-2022-29731Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated password-hash disclosure via hidden operator field

Published May 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper access control in ICT Protege GX/WX 2.08 allows remote authenticated users to read other users' SHA1 password hashes. The operator page embeds the selected account's client-side SHA1 hash in the hidden pswdsha input without enforcing authorization for that account. Any authenticated operator can retrieve another operator's hash over the network and use it for offline password-recovery attempts.
