CVE-2022-2967

Credential theft via recoverable password edits

Published Jan 3, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025

Credential exposure in Prosys OPC UA servers allows local users to recover passwords entered through either application's user interface. The user-configuration editing workflow leaves entered passwords recoverable until the application restarts, permitting their reuse over OPC UA. Local privileged access and an in-session password edit are required; recovered credentials grant access to server data.
