Administrator account creation via unverified cross-site request
Published May 31, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Mingsoft MCMS 5.2.7 allows remote attackers to add an administrator account through a victim’s browser. The manager save endpoint accepts a state-changing account-creation request without a CSRF token or Referer validation. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to submit an attacker-controlled page, after which the new account grants administrative access.
