Router service crash via unchecked comment copy
Published May 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in TOTOLINK A3100R firmware builds 4.1.2cu.5050_B20200504 and 4.1.2cu.5247_B20211129 allows remote attackers to crash the router. The firewall.so setIpQosRules function passes the unbounded POST comment value directly to strcpy, overflowing its stack buffer. The published request includes a SESSION_ID cookie, but the source does not establish an authentication requirement; the demonstrated consequence is service interruption.
