Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted file suffix
Published May 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Arbitrary file upload in Roncoo Education 9.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute code through the /course/api/upload/pic endpoint. The APIUploadController uploadPic method performs no identity check and preserves an attacker-chosen suffix when storing the file at a web-accessible URL. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted upload can place attacker-controlled active content or executable code on the server.
