Authenticated data access via injectable $select expressions
Published Apr 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in UniverSIS UniverSIS-API 1.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read or alter data via $select. Multiple API endpoints accept attacker-controlled SQL syntax in the $select parameter instead of restricting the expression to safe fields. A valid account and endpoint access are required; successful queries can retrieve personal information or change grades.
