Cross-site scripting via unencoded HTML output
Published Jul 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in TYPO3 Grid Elements allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another backend user's browser. The extension renders attacker-controlled backend input in an HTML context without proper output encoding, so the browser interprets that input as markup or script. Exploitation requires a TYPO3 backend account and affects 7.6.1 and earlier, 8.0.0 through 8.7.0, 9.0.0 through 9.7.0, and 10.0.0 through 10.2.0.
