File-system access via exposed Chromium developer tools
Published May 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Sandbox escape in Konica Minolta bizhub MFP firmware before 2022-04-14 allows physically proximate attackers to access the file system. The touch-screen terminal launches utility pages in Chromium kiosk mode but leaves the F12 developer console accessible, where its Sources workspace accepts arbitrary local folders. Physical access, an attached USB keyboard, enabled User Authentication, and enabled Public User Access expose configuration files and stored credentials.
