Browser script execution via unencoded error parameter
Published Apr 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in the WSO2 Management Console in affected releases allows remote attackers to execute browser script through a crafted URL. The login.jsp errorCode parameter is inserted into a JavaScript-bearing response without proper output encoding, causing attacker-controlled text to be interpreted as script. A victim must open the crafted Management Console URL; script can redirect the browser, alter the page, or read browser data, but protected session cookies prevent session hijacking.
