CVE-2022-29525Network attack vector

Root access via hard-coded credential

Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in Rakuten Casa AP_F_V1_4_1 and AP_F_V2_0_0 allow remote attackers to obtain root access and execute operations. The firmware derives or accepts a root password from device-housing information, leaving the privileged login protected by a reproducible device-specific secret. Access requires information from the product housing; successful login permits arbitrary administrative operations, including changes to administrator information.
