Cleartext transmission in Yokogawa STARDOM FCN/FCJ R1.01 through R4.31 allows adjacent attackers to capture sensitive controller traffic. The controller sends sensitive login material without transport protection, allowing network sniffing to recover information used for login. Access to the controller network segment and user interaction are required; a successful login permits configuration changes and tampered firmware installation.
