Firmware denial of service via unreleased memory
Published Nov 11, 2022 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Memory leak in Intel Server Platform Services Firmware before SPS_E3_06.00.03.035.0 allows local users to interrupt firmware service. Intel has not identified the firmware component or allocation path that fails to release memory after its effective lifetime. Exploitation requires privileged local access and exhausts firmware resources, resulting in denial of service without reported data disclosure or modification.
