Event-log manipulation via unchecked admin-hook requests
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 29, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Sucuri Security 1.8.33 and earlier allows remote attackers to create WordPress event-log entries. Administrative hooks accepted state-changing requests without validating their origin through WordPress referer checks. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to visit a crafted page or follow a malicious link; the documented consequence is limited to unwanted event-log creation.
