Security feature disable via hidden nvram command
Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Leftover debug code in InHand Networks InRouter302 V3.5.45 allows remote authenticated users to disable security features via crafted network requests. The hidden configure-mode nvram command accepts arbitrary get and set operations despite rejecting malformed values, allowing changes such as clearing firmware-signature verification. Exploitation requires valid console credentials and privileged enable access; impact is integrity loss through weakened security controls, with no documented direct confidentiality or availability effect.
