Unauthenticated code execution via traversed file upload
Published Apr 18, 2022 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in affected WSO2 server products allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted /fileupload request. The endpoint accepts a Content-Disposition filename containing directory traversal and writes the uploaded payload beneath the web root without restricting its path or type. No authentication or user interaction is required, and deployment of the uploaded server-side payload grants code execution on the host.
