Unauthenticated memory corruption via unchecked MAC address
Published May 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in the N600R web component in TOTOLINK N600R 4.3.0cu.7647_B20210106 allows remote attackers to corrupt process memory. FUN_0041b448 splits the macAddress JSON value on colons and passes the segments to strcat for concatenation into the stack variable local_3c without checking their length. The unauthenticated network path reaches cstecgi.cgi; the public artifact demonstrates the overflow but not command execution.
