Unauthenticated memory corruption via unbounded comment copy
Published May 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in TOTOLINK N600R 4.3.0cu.7647_B20210106 allows remote attackers to corrupt process memory via a crafted comment value. FUN_00418c24 in the router web CGI copies the JSON comment value into stack-local storage without checking its length. The unauthenticated web interface is network reachable; the published proof of concept demonstrates the overwrite in emulation, but not command execution.
