Unauthenticated stack corruption via unchecked comment copy
Published May 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in TOTOLINK N600R firmware 4.3.0cu.7647_B20210106 allows remote attackers to corrupt stack memory via a crafted comment. FUN_004200c8 in cstecgi.cgi copies the JSON comment value directly into stack-local storage without checking its length. Network access requires no privileges; the public artifact demonstrates the overflow under emulation but does not demonstrate code execution.
