Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized mail address
Published May 12, 2022 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
OS command injection in Contec SolarView Compact 6.00 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through conf_mail.php. The endpoint strips spaces from the mail_address value, concatenates it into an echo command, and passes the string to system without rejecting shell metacharacters. No authentication or user interaction is required, and injected commands can read or alter device data or interrupt its service.
