Improper memory handling in InsydeH2O Kernel 5.0 through 5.5 allows local users with high privileges to tamper with SMRAM and OS memory. SdHostDriver and SdMmcDevice use an untrusted pointer without sufficient bounds validation, allowing attacker-controlled addresses to alter firmware or operating-system memory. Exploitation requires privileged local access and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability across the firmware trust boundary.
