Memory corruption in InsydeH2O UsbCoreDxe allows local users to escalate privileges by supplying untrusted pointers to firmware. UsbCoreDxe consumes caller-controlled pointers that can address OS or SMRAM memory, allowing writes across the firmware trust boundary. Local low-privileged access is required; successful exploitation tampers with OS or SMRAM memory and elevates privilege.
