CVE-2022-29214Network attack vector

User redirection via unchecked OAuth callback URL

Published May 20, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Open redirect in Auth.js NextAuth.js before 3.29.3 and 4.0.0 through 4.3.2 allows remote attackers to redirect users via OAuth 1. The default callbacks.redirect handling accepts an attacker-controlled callback URL without restricting its origin to the application's base URL. The flaw is reachable only in applications implementing an OAuth 1 provider, and exploitation requires user interaction before navigation to an external site.
