Administrator takeover via downloadable weak password hashes
Published Aug 21, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Privilege escalation in NotrinosERP before 0.7 allows remote authenticated users to obtain a system administrator account via database backup. The Backup and Restore permission lets an AP officer download a database backup containing the administrator password hash, while affected releases store that hash with crackable MD5. AP officer access is required; recovering the password grants administrator-only company, language, extension, theme, and upgrade functions.
