Denial of service via unchecked filter_sizes
Published May 20, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Improper input validation in TensorFlow before 2.9.0, 2.8.1, 2.7.2, or 2.6.4 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via Conv3DBackpropFilterV2. The operation accepts a filter_sizes argument without verifying that it is a vector, so malformed scalar input reaches an internal CHECK and terminates the process. Exploitation requires the attacker to supply crafted arguments to an application invoking this local TensorFlow API; the consequence is process interruption without confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
