Login CAPTCHA bypass via spoofed IP headers
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
Authentication bypass in Login No Captcha reCAPTCHA before 1.7 allows remote attackers to skip login CAPTCHA checks via spoofed IP headers. LoginNoCaptcha::get_ip_address() trusts HTTP_CLIENT_IP, HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR, and similar client-controlled headers and compares the result with the configured IP allow list. Exploitation requires a known allow-listed address and valid login credentials; the flaw removes CAPTCHA protection but does not bypass password authentication.
