Local information disclosure via unvalidated file path
Published May 10, 2022 · Updated Jan 2, 2025
Directory traversal in the Print Spooler service in affected Microsoft Windows releases allows local users to read sensitive files. The service fails to validate a user-supplied path before using it in file operations, permitting access to information under the SYSTEM security context. Low-privileged code execution on the target is required, and the documented consequence is disclosure without data modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
