CVE-2022-29093

Arbitrary file deletion via path traversal

Published Jun 10, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Path traversal in Dell SupportAssist Client Commercial 3.1.1 and earlier allows local users to delete arbitrary files. Dell identifies CWE-22 but has not published the affected component, path field, or deletion routine that accepts the attacker-controlled pathname. A signed-in non-admin account is sufficient, and deletion of protected or operational files can compromise integrity or interrupt the system.
