CVE-2022-29084Network attack vector

Account takeover via unrestricted password guessing

Published Jun 2, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Improper authentication-attempt restriction in Dell Unity before 5.2.0.0.5.173 allows remote attackers to take over weak-password accounts. The Unisphere GUI fails to restrict excessive authentication attempts, permitting repeated password guesses against a victim account. Exploitation requires network access to the management interface and a weak user password; success grants the victim's system access.
