Authenticated command execution via crafted CLI arguments
Published Sep 6, 2022 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
OS command injection in Fortinet FortiAP, FortiAP-S, FortiAP-W2, and FortiAP-U firmware allows local users to execute unauthorized commands. The command-line interpreter fails to neutralize special elements in crafted arguments supplied to existing commands, allowing the arguments to alter the resulting OS command. An authenticated CLI session is required, and successful exploitation executes commands outside the authorized command set on the access point.
