Outbound FTP connection via unprotected validation request
Published Apr 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSRF in Jenkins Publish Over FTP Plugin 1.16 and earlier allows remote attackers to initiate FTP connections with chosen credentials. The affected form-validation methods accept non-POST requests and use supplied FTP credentials when initiating a connection. Exploitation requires a logged-in victim with Overall/Read permission to load an attacker-controlled request; the bounded effect is an outbound FTP connection.
