Stored script execution via unescaped parameter metadata
Published Apr 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Jenkins CVS Plugin 2.19 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run script through CVS Symbolic Name parameters. The plugin renders attacker-controlled parameter names and descriptions on parameter-listing views without HTML escaping. Exploitation requires Item/Configure permission and a page that lists the parameter without Jenkins core or plugin hardening, exposing the viewing user's browser context.
