Browser code execution via reflected syslog address
Published Jun 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Siemens SINEMA Remote Connect Server before 3.1 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a user's browser. During syslog server configuration, the error popup inserts an invalid address into the DOM with an unsafe jQuery method instead of treating it as text. Exploitation requires a logged-in user's browser to submit a crafted syslog address and render the resulting popup; code then runs in that user's session.
