Arbitrary file read via JSON-RPC file method
Published Jun 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Local file inclusion in Razer Sila Gaming Router 2.0.441_api-2.0.418 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through its web API. The /ubus/ JSON-RPC endpoint passes an attacker-chosen path to the file object's read method and returns the requested file contents. Reachability requires network access to the router's /ubus/ endpoint; the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of local files such as /etc/passwd.
