Script execution via unescaped fragment filter parameters
Published Sep 22, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Reflected XSS in Liferay Portal 7.4.3.4 and Liferay DXP 7.4 GA allows remote attackers to execute scripts via filter_ parameters. The applied_filters.jsp view writes filter labels into HTML and fragment link identifiers and values into attributes without context-appropriate escaping. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted request, after which the script runs in the Liferay origin and can read or alter page data available to that user.
