Stored XSS via unescaped user full name
Published Sep 21, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stored XSS in Liferay Portal 7.0.1 through 7.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through a crafted user name. The Site Memberships Web user_info_panel.jsp prints curUser.getFullName() inside a heading without HTML escaping. An attacker must set the crafted name and induce an administrator to view the membership page, which executes the script in that viewer's browser; affected Liferay DXP releases span 7.0 before fix pack 102, 7.1 before fix pack 26, 7.2 before fix pack 15, and 7.3 before service pack 3.
