Root command execution via crafted IP address
Published May 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection in D-Link DIR-882 firmware 1.30B06 allows remote attackers to execute operating-system commands as root via IPAddress. The SetNetworkSettings handler processes the untrusted IPAddress value without neutralizing command separators before shell execution. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation runs attacker-chosen commands with root privileges on the router.
