Scanning-engine crash via aerdl unpack failure
Published Aug 23, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Denial of service in F-Secure and WithSecure security products allows remote attackers to crash the scanning engine. The aerdl unpack function crashes while processing remotely supplied content, propagating the failure to the scanning engine. The published CVSS assessments disagree on whether high privileges and user interaction are required, while the reported consequence is limited to a scanning-engine crash and service interruption.
