Scanning-engine crash via aerdl.dll unpacker failure
Published Aug 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Denial of service in F-Secure Atlant and affected WithSecure products allows remote attackers to crash the scanning engine via crafted input. The aerdl.dll unpacker function crashes while processing attacker-supplied content, propagating the failure into the scanning engine. Triggering requires the content to reach a product scan path; the published effect is an engine crash, not a host reboot or shutdown.
