Remote scanning-engine crash via malformed PE32 files
Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Jun 2, 2026
Denial of service in F-Secure and WithSecure security products allows remote attackers to crash the scanning engine via crafted PE32 files. Processing fuzzed PE32-bit input during file inspection terminates the scanning engine instead of returning a scan result. No authentication or user interaction is needed; the bounded consequence is interruption of malware scanning through an engine crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
