CVE-2022-2888Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account impersonation via nonexpiring session cookies

Published Sep 21, 2022 · Updated May 28, 2025

Insufficient session expiration in OctoPrint before 1.8.3 allows attackers holding a victim's session cookie to impersonate the account holder. The application accepts existing session and persistent-login cookies without a short inactivity limit, fixed lifetime, or password-change invalidation. Possession of a valid stolen cookie is required; access lasts while the account exists and carries the account's OctoPrint privileges.
