Memory disclosure via unchecked QXD decoding
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe InDesign 16.4.2 and earlier and 17.3 and earlier allows attackers to disclose sensitive memory via a crafted QXD file. The QXD decoder performs an out-of-bounds memory read because it does not properly bounds-check malformed drawing data. Exploitation requires a user to open the file; the resulting disclosure can expose ASLR-related memory without altering data or interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
