CVE-2022-2884Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via crafted GitHub import responses

Published Oct 17, 2022 · Updated May 14, 2025

OS command injection in GitLab 11.3.4 through 15.1.4, 15.2 through 15.2.2, and 15.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The GitHub import API trusts attacker-controlled Octokit Sawyer objects whose crafted conversion methods corrupt Redis command framing and inject Redis commands. API access and an attacker-controlled GitHub response server are required, and injected jobs can invoke arbitrary Bash commands in the GitLab server context.
