Code execution via invalid DWG vertex number
Published Jul 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Open Design Alliance Drawings SDK before 2023.3 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted DWG file. In recovery mode, the DWG reader trusts an invalid vertex number and reads beyond the intended buffer boundary. A user must open the malicious file in recovery mode, after which code executes with the privileges of the current process.
