Code execution via recovery-mode DWG out-of-bounds read
Published Jul 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Open Design Alliance Drawings SDK before 2023.3 allows attackers to execute code via a DWG file opened in recovery mode. The recovery-mode DWG reader accesses memory beyond a valid buffer boundary while processing attacker-controlled drawing data. The attack requires the malicious file to be opened via recovery mode; successful exploitation crashes the process or runs code with the process's privileges.
